SHOOT DOWN THE WOLVES!!! Wolves vs Arsenal Match Preview
My primary school teacher taught me not to start sentences with words like ‘Because’. So I would not. If not, this post would have started like this; Because I can’t blame Jesus, I’ll blame the Nigerian Government for the lateness of this post.
The public holiday declared on Monday, disoriented me. I was so certain today was Tuesday. I even placed a bet with a colleague. He showed me the day of the week on his wristwatch, I said the wristwatch was broken. He showed me the time and date on his computer, I told him his Laptop’s antivirus is bad, he needs to scan his PC for trojans. Finally, we Googled “Current Time” and it showed “17:41 Wednesday (WAT) – Time in Lagos”
I was shocked, to say the least. I was so certain my Arsenal team was playing Wolves tomorrow, and I had enough time to cook up a match preview. But, alas, we play them in less than an hour.
THE SQUAD
There would be two certain changes to the team today, Gibbs (injury(finally)) and Koscielny (suspension) would be replaced by Santos and Djourou. Not bad replacements in my own opinion. Santos is highly rated by me and Djourou isn’t as lowly rated by me as most Arsenal fans would rate him. The only problem I envisage is the lack of cohesion that the introduction of two new players in a unit that’s been functioning together for some period might cause, but I’m sure the first 20 minutes would be enough to fix that problem.
In attack, Wenger says Gervinho is still out, so we’re sure to see Benayoun continue on the left. I would not be surprised to see most-hated Ramsey start ahead of the impressive Rosicky. Body no be wood na. He deserves some break.
The other positions in the team is on auto-fill.
THE MATCH
Lets call the QPR games CPC 101 – Complacency 101. We have failed this exam over and over again. I hope we won’t this time around. Reading news articles here and there, and its obvious, its a course that the players have been poring over. They’ve all been talking about not losing concentration, how important 3rd place is, how important finishing above Sp*rs is and so on.
If we play with the same ginger we play with against City and other big teams that we’ve overcome this season, I’m sure we would get the result. However, if we approach it like QPR, na to start to buy handout for CPC 101 again.
What should even serve as more motivation for us to win the game is the result of Monday’s games. Chelsea and Sp*rs both dropped points, so a victory today would take us 5 points clear of Sp*rs (who I’m sure would not finish outside the top-4) and Newcastle (who are actively in race for 3rd/4th place now) and 7 points clear of Chelsea (who have the distraction of Champions League and FA Cup).
It is a winnable game.
Over to the lads. I predict a 3 – 1 Arsenal victory. You nko?

Good one (given the time constraint), Guardian n wa e!
Close call with the scores, Szzzzzczzzzzzzzzz denied you an accurate prediction (brilliantly, twice)
You know.. when you predict a score…. you should predict only the one that affects your team… so, in that regard.. i’m 10/10… Henceforth.. when I predict, I’ll say.. “The Arsenal would score 3 goals today”
Which Guardian o???? Ibru’s Guardian?
